Cooking Cleanses the Soul.

What is it about cooking that everyone loves? Its the fact that after a horrid day you can come home and beat eggs or dough without feeling even worse. Another good thing about cooking is that it allows you to be creative and it has no rules. You can always add extra ingredients or substitute ingredients and you have no one to yell at you. I love making new things and always having a challenge. Cooking always calms me down and makes me in a chipper mood. I am very OCD about having my kitchen clean, where all my appliances/ingredients are stored and I can't stand it people are in the kitchen when I'm cooking. My family has a small kitchen so it gets crowded and also for safety reasons, I don't wanna slice my finger open when someone is trying to get into the fridge.

I learned how to cook in High School, I took all the culinary classes. My mom never cooked; well she was good but not as good as me. haha! I realized that I need a rather big kitchen when I get married, I already have a ton of cooking stuff in my kitchen and I can barely fit it all. I have taken up about 1/4 of my mom's kitchen to store MY appliances, spices, ingredients, knives and cookbooks. My dad actually gave me his first cookbook from college and I love it. I have made it a goal to cook everything in that book when I get married. I figure that as long as I impress the person I'm with or my husband then I am good. That is my ultimate goal.

Foodnetwork is my favorite channel and website to go to. I get so many recipes from there and I love most of the shows on that channel. Bobby Flay and Giada De Laurentiis are my favorite chefs. I figured out how to make lobster, I really wanna try it out but lobsters are so expensive. My mom bought the movie Julie and Julie, that is one of my new favorite movies now. I actually decided to make some recipes off of that movie. I made Bruschetta yesterday, I don't think it was the same recipe as the movie but it still works. I wrote down all the recipes in the film that I wanna make so hopefully I will get to it.

I also bought a smoothie cookbook from Barnes and Noble. I made a smoothie yesterday, it was a disaster but turned out great. Our blender broke so we had to go to Target to buy another one. I love the new one we got cause it works wonders. I cooked meatball stew and a 4-fruit smoothie today, it was amazing. Its interesting cause I love cooking but I am a very picky eater and I don't really like eating what I make. I would rather see other people enjoy it. I figure that since I don't really have a talent, that cooking is my talent. I usually cook on holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas cause its a huge task to do and no one wants to do it. I've made ham, turkey, 2-layer choloclate cake, veggie dip, stuffing, deviled eggs, pie, just everything!!! I don't like mushrooms but there is one recipe I wanna try. Its from the film Julie and Julia, I figure that to be a good cook you need to learn everything. Practicing helps.

I actually wrote down a whole list of appliances that I need to get. Unfortunately, the stuff I want you have to get at wal-mart. BLAH! I dislike wal-mart but Paula Deen has the cutest non-stick aqua color appliances. I want Paula Deen's 9x9 in pan, 9x13 in pan, kettle, 3-piece prep bowls, 2-piece mixing bowls, 2qt square casserole dish, roasting pan with wire rack, 10 piece cookware set, and wooden spoons. This will cost me a lot of money but I can always buy them in segments. I usually like to purchase my supplies at Target or Bed, Bath and Beyond. Going to a culinary store is like a 5 year old going to a toy store. Its complete bliss! That is another good thing about cooking, you can always buy them at different times and look around. I just barely bought a oil bottle and I really need to get a zester. I think those look better then the regular bottles oil comes in with the label on it and stuff.

Bon Appetit!
